80s Song of the Day: Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money

I get frightened in all this darkness
I get nightmares I hate to sleep alone
I need some company a guardian angel
To keep me warm when the cold winds blow

Take Me Home by Eddie Money was released on August 16, 1986, with Calm Before the Storm as the B side. It was the lead single from the album Can’t Hold Back. The song features vocalist Ronnie Spector singing “be my little baby” from the chorus of her 1963 hit Be My Baby with The Ronettes.

The song reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped revive the careers of both Money and Spector. It reached No. 15 in Canada.
