The song was a worldwide hit and Queen’s best-selling single, with sales of more than 7 million copies. In the United States, it spent three weeks at No. 1, 15 weeks in the Top 10, and 31 weeks total on the Billboard Hot 100, more than any other song in 1980. It reached No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart.
