80s Song of the Day: Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2

Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2 was released on March 21, 1983, with Endless Deep as the B side. It was a single from the band’s third studio album, War.

In the United States, the song reached No. 7 on the Billboard Top Tracks chart.

The music video featured concert footage from a June 5, 1983 live performance filmed for the concert film U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky. In 2004, Rolling Stone cited the performance as one “50 Moments that Changed the History of Rock and Roll.”
