The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough by Cyndi Lauper was released on June 6, 1985, with What a Thrill as the B side. The song appeared on The Goonies: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

The song reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was Lauper’s fifth Top 10 single on that chart.

The movie’s director Steven Spielberg had made Lauper the musical director for The Goonies soundtrack. She sought out new bands to be included on it, including her friends The Bangles, who contributed the song I Got Nothing.
