Pride (In the Name of Love) by U2 was released on September 3, 1984, with Boomerang II as the B side. Written about Martin Luther King Jr., it was the lead single from the album The Unforgettable Fire.

The song reached No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was U2’s first Top 40 hit in the United States.
