Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell was released January 14, 1984, with an instrumental version of the song as the B side. It was a single from Rockwell’s debut studio album of the same name.
Rockwell, who’s real name is Kennedy William Gordy, is the son of Motown founder and CEO Berry Gordy. He recruited some help from two famous friends on this track – Michael Jackson lent his vocals to the chorus and Michael’s brother Jermaine provided backing vocals.
The single topped the charts in several countries, including France, Belgium, and Spain. In the United States, it reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
